7.5T Lorry Driver

At Saffron Vantage we are looking for x2 7.5 tonne drivers on a permanent basis. Notice cannot be worked around.

Working Hours: 07:00 - 15:00 (30 minute breaks)

Working Dates: Monday to Friday

Pay Rate: £18.50 PAYE Umbrella

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a 7.5 tonne flatbed lorry for scheduled deliveries and collections
• Collect bins, mattresses, furniture, and other bulky household waste from designated locations across the council area.
• Complete daily collection routes covering urban housing estates, residential streets, and rural locations.
• Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects, damage, or maintenance requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of collections, incidents, vehicle inspections, and route completion.
• Follow manual handling procedures when assisting with the movement of mattresses and bulky items.

Experience

• Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with flatbed vehicles or similar lorries
• Valid UK Category C1 Driving Licence (7.5 tonne entitlement).
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Digital Tachograph Card.
• Good knowledge of road transport regulations and safe driving practices.
• Good level of physical fitness to assist with loading and handling bulky items when required.
