Oates Recovery Ltd is a professional breakdown and recovery specialist operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing roadside assistance and vehicle recovery for both car and commercial vehicles.

We are seeking a reliable and motivated HGV Class 2 Recovery Driver to join our growing team.

This role is operationally demanding and can be fast-paced, particularly when attending breakdowns in hazardous locations or responding to road traffic collisions. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong situational awareness, safe working practices, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

• Recovery of broken down and accident-damaged vehicles (cars and vans up to 5T GVW)
• Safe loading, securing, and transportation of vehicles
• Attending roadside incidents and RTC scenes professionally
• Updating job management software accurately and in real time
• Delivering excellent customer service at all times

Requirements

• HGV Class 2 Licence (minimum 1 year experience)
• Valid CPC qualification
• Previous motor trade or vehicle recovery experience preferred
• Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions
• Strong understanding of roadside safety procedures

Available Shift Patterns

• 06:00 – 18:00 4 On / 4 Off (alternating days) £15.00 P/H £31,395.00 per annum
• 14:00 - 02:00 4 On / 4 Off (alternating days) £15.80 P/H £33,069.40 per annum
• 18:00 - 06:00 4 On / 4 Off (alternating days) £16.50 P/H £34,534.50 per annum

Salary & Benefits

• £31,395.00 - £34,534.50 per annum (shift choice dependant)
• Equivalent to £15.00 - £16.50 per hour (shift choice dependant)

Additional Information

You will complete a 6-month paid probation period. This ensures the role is the right fit for both you and Oates Recovery Ltd before a permanent contract is issued.
